Forecasting is difficult, especially when it is about the future.
You’re right, that wasn’t really an original opening. Maybe, but it is exactly what August Bridge has been through in the past few months. All sorts of things have happened to us that we hadn’t predicted.
No, this is not about corona.
Or, well – a little bit maybe. Because August Bridge started two weeks before the corona crisis and we had to swallow a little. One August Bridge partner asked the other what this would mean for the brand new company. The other one said ‘I don’t know’ and that there was nothing to do but make the best of it. And that worked out quite well.
We are not so keen on fame, if only because August Bridge still has to prove itself. After all, what is a history of less than five months? Answer: that is how long one of Pamela Anderson’s marriages lasted. So we are not counting ourselves rich yet.
But in the meantime, we were busy writing job advertisements, interviewing and other things we had not thought of until 2021.
And then there was the unexpected internationalisation. Suddenly, we received calls from other European countries. And again. And again. A translator has a hard job, because he is rewriting our website in English. We had no intention of doing this three months ago.
Forecasting may be difficult, but looking back is quite easy – especially when it comes to the past. And so, looking back, we can tell you why we were and still are so busy. The reason is the trust we received from all our customers and partners. We are grateful to them!
And as difficult as it may be to predict, we are pretty sure that we are not going to betray that trust
